JewBer Dorot Program

Throughout the past 9 months, JewBer has been hyper-focused on meeting demonstrated needs within our greater Boston Jewish community. At first, we focused on Jewish Frontline Heroes who were working long hours on hospital floors fighting the Coronavirus. During the summer months we transitioned to begin to support low income households, homebound elderly, and Holocaust Survivors. This spring, we are excited to announce our newest initiative: The JewBer Dorot Program.

The JewBer Dorot Program strives to unite young Jewish adults in acts of service and volunteerism during this public health and economic crisis. Translating from Hebrew to English as "generations", the Dorot Program brings together college students to deliver catered kosher Shabbat meals to Holocaust Survivors in the greater Boston area. These Holocaust Survivors are by and large isolated with little connection to the Jewish community at this time. The Dorot Program shows Survivors first hand that we are here for them, we care about them, and they are not forgotten during these difficult times.

The JewBer Dorot Program will occur on the following Fridays during the spring academic semester. Deliveries occur between the hours of 11am - 1pm and all volunteers will receive pre-delivery training from the JewBer team.

  • Friday, February 26th

  • Friday, March 19th

  • Friday, April 16th
